Author's biography<\/span><\/p>

Ir\u00e8ne Danon was born in Brazil to a French mother and a Brazilian father, both scientists. She spent her early childhood in the lively neighborhood of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the age of seven, due to the military dictatorship, she left this country that was so dear to her for France with her mother and her two sisters. The link with Brazil never broke as Ir\u00e8ne went back every summer to visit her father. Visually impaired from birth, she managed to follow the traditional school system. After a master's degree in philosophy, she wrote a thesis entitled \"The Amazon: a challenge for the future\" before joining the Brazilian delegation to UNESCO where she worked for many years. Despite her disability, she then worked for the French Ministry of Culture and became a civil servant in 2012. At the same time, she created the Miquinhos association (in French: little monkeys) to promote the biodiversity of the Amazon and local initiatives. Victim of a stroke, Irene temporarily lost the use of speech.

Synopsis<\/span><\/p>

Through her short stories, the author introduces us to the Amazon, a land both sacred and wild where myths and beliefs are part of everyday life. We meet Niwana, designated to transmit ancestral knowledge, the women of the people of the moon who try to protect their descendants, and this young boy from the poor neighborhoods of Rio\u2026. The journey continues in France during First World War with Marie Curie, then in Berry, a forgotten village in countryside where its last inhabitants regain hope thanks to Gilou\u2026 a large sheepdog.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
