- Renaissens is unique in that it only publishes authors with disabilities.
- The idea was born out of a reflection on access to employment for disabled people (difficult access in today's society, especially for disabled graduates).
The publisher wants to take action in favour of disability with three objectives:
1. Changing the way society looks at disability
2. Giving disabled people a social identity by becoming authors
3. Enabling writing to fulfil its therapeutic function
- Renaissens is a genuine self-publishing house
- Its authors are paid 10%, as in the major publishing houses.
- All literary genres are accepted (novels, short stories, drama, poetry, personal accounts, etc.).
- All disabled authors are accepted (blind, partially sighted, deaf, people with reduced mobility, etc.).
- Each author benefits from personalised support right up to the publication of their work.
- The books are available in bookshops all over France, where anyone can order them.
- Distribution is handled by Sodis, in an environmentally-friendly way, as the publishing house is committed to the "zero waste" project, printing books only on demand.

  • A drawing competition for young people under the age of 20 is organised to design the cover of each book. Participants are made aware of the author's disability. The winner receives a prize of 100 euros and the book is offered to him or her so that he or she can continue the work of raising awareness of disability in his or her circle of friends and family. A partnership has been set up with the Alliances Françaises on 5 continents. This project is part of an intercultural-youth-francophone-disabled approach.

- The publishing house has 3 collections, all of which have received an ISSN number from the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BNF):
Voir Autrement : the imaginary world of people who have never seen
The words of silence Any book written by a Deaf person, allowing hearing people to discover their world.
Like everyone any writing that is not included in Voir autrement or Les Mots du Silence
- Since September 2019, Renaissens has had approval from the State to train a young person in civic service (6 to 9-month contract). The young person on civic service is provided by the Mission Locale Cannes Pays de Lérins. The young person participates fully in all the missions, 24 hours a week.
