Biography of the author
Fanny Castella, 29, is a young trilingual author of Swiss and Italian nationality. A graduate in literature and creative writing from the University of Kent (England), L'Autre Juliette is her first novel. Suffering from cystic fibrosis and marked by a medically difficult childhood, she claims the right for patients to set their own limits and define the madness of their lives. Her texts explore identity freed from labels, the right to love and rebellion. At the same time, Fanny performs internationally as a burlesque artist, transforming the rebellion and defiance of a sick body into a burst of freedom.
